Morning Glory Farr, Writer and Editor
Morning Glory Farr
Writer and Editor
For as long as Morning Glory can remember, she has been asked the same two questions: “Is that your real name?” and, “Were your parents hippies?” These days, instead of answering other’s questions, she’s trying to find the answers to her own. With a background in documentary film production and photography, and a year of journalism graduate school under her belt, she brings a multi-media focus to the Denver Voice. In her new editorial position, she is exited to wander the streets of Denver, learning more about the city and its diverse community, and looking for stories that make life interesting. It is this process, of exploration and discovery, that first drew her to journalism, and that keeps her coming back for more. Oh, just in case you were wondering…yes it is and yes they were.
Natalie Covert, Art Director
Natalie Covert
Art Director
As a lover of people and the arts, photojournalism has always struck a cord for Natalie. Growing up she devoured magazines and art books, fulfilled by the scenes that embodied a unique slice of life. She was fascinated by the relationship between the photographer and the subject, and eagerly accepted the unspoken permission to gaze freely at the private moments exposed on film. When her uncle presented her with her first camera at thirteen, she felt honored to take on the roll as the photographer. Today, she still finds herself behind the camera with a desire to capture and convey the world and all of its intricacies. After receiving a Bachelor in Fine Arts she has worked as a freelance photographer and graphic designer. The Voice offers an ideal opportunity for her to become intimately related to a city and to reveal a raw and authentic side of Denver.
Ashley Inman, Editor
Ashley Inman
Contributing Editor
A small photograph sits in a silver frame on the bookshelf of Ashley’s grandmother’s home in Tucson, Arizona. Two blond, blue-eyed kids, their tan older sister and their young mother stand smiling. They are flanked by three dark skinned men, sporting tall feather headdresses and gourds covering their lower extremities. Living in Irian Jaya, Indonesia as a kid had its perks and exposed Ashley to culture and societies that most people will never see. Ashley’s travels sparked a curiosity that led her to pursue a master’s degree in journalism at the University of Colorado. Her background is in fine art photography, children's portraiture and writing. As an editor of the Denver Voice, she offers up her passion and ability to find and document issues affecting minority communities and individuals.
